The Republican National Committee, under the leadership of co-chair Lara Trump, is gearing up for the upcoming election cycle with a strong focus on monitoring key polling centers across the country.

In an interview with Newsmax TV, Lara Trump emphasized the importance of ensuring election integrity and vigilance throughout the electoral process.

Lara Trump expressed concerns about the integrity of the 2020 election, stating that there were issues reported at polling locations, such as blocked windows in Detroit.

While numerous allegations and legal challenges were made following the election, courts ultimately ruled against them. Despite this, Lara Trump highlighted the RNC’s commitment to being prepared and proactive in safeguarding against potential irregularities in future elections.

One of the key strategies outlined by Lara Trump is the deployment of 100,000 poll workers to closely monitor ballot counts at polling locations.

The RNC aims to track the number of ballots coming in and going out to ensure transparency and accuracy in the voting process.

Lara Trump also emphasized that any instances of cheating or fraud would be met with legal action, sending a clear message that such behavior will not be tolerated.

In a recent victory for Republicans, the U.S. 3rd Circuit Court of Appeals ruled in favor of the RNC regarding signature verification for mail-in voting in Pennsylvania.

This decision is expected to have significant implications not only in Pennsylvania but also in other battleground states where voter integrity measures are being debated.

The case centered around whether ballots with incorrect or missing dates under a voter’s signature should be counted.

Democrats argued that such ballots should be counted under the Materiality Provision of the Civil Rights Act of 1964, which prohibits denial of voting rights due to errors or omissions that are deemed immaterial to a voter’s qualifications.

They claimed The Materiality Provision prohibits denial of the right to vote because of an “error or omission” on paperwork “related to any application, registration, or other act requisite to voting,” if the mistake is “not material in determining whether [an] individual is qualified” to vote.

The RNC responded by contending that enforcing the date requirement on ballots “does not impinge on the right to vote” because the Materiality Provision “only prohibits immaterial requirements affecting the qualification and registration of a voter,” not other, more specific requirements for casting a ballot, The Daily Wire reported.

All three of the appeals court judges were appointed by Democrats; two of the three agreed with Republicans, writing, in part:

States have separate bodies of rules for separate stages of the voting process. One stage, voter qualification, deals with who votes. To register and thus be authorized to vote, applicants must follow prescribed steps and meet certain requirements. It’s like obtaining a license to drive. Another stage deals with how ballots are cast by those previously authorized to vote, which is governed by a different set of rules. To cast a ballot that is valid and will be counted, all qualified voters must abide by certain requirements, just like those authorized to drive must obey the State’s traffic laws like everyone else.

The Materiality Provision is an important federal overlay on state election requirements during the “who” stage: voter qualification. It prohibits States from denying an applicant the right to vote based on an error or omission in paperwork involving his application if that mistake is immaterial in determining whether he is qualified to vote. That is, it is triggered when conduct or laws restrict who may vote. But it leaves it to the States to decide how qualified voters must cast a valid ballot. Pennsylvania has made one such rule—the date requirement—mandatory. The federal Materiality Provision, in our view, does not interfere.

Lara Trump’s emphasis on early monitoring and legal action against potential misconduct underscores the RNC’s commitment to upholding election integrity and ensuring fair and transparent electoral processes.

By proactively engaging in legal battles and advocating for stringent verification measures, the RNC aims to bolster confidence in the electoral system and deter any attempts at malpractice during elections.

As preparations intensify for the upcoming election cycle, Lara Trump’s leadership within the RNC signals a strong determination to safeguard democracy and protect voters’ rights.

With a focus on monitoring polling centers and addressing potential irregularities head-on, the RNC is positioning itself as a vigilant guardian of election integrity amidst ongoing debates and challenges surrounding voting procedures.
