Journalists will never learn that attempting to outsmart President Trump with loaded questions only backfires on them.
A female journalist was reminded of this when she tried to defend Kamala Harris by promoting her race-baiting comments, and it didn’t go well.
During Trump’s visit to Howell, Michigan, for a press conference on crime and safety, the journalist attempted to corner him with a question.
Despite Michigan being a crucial state in the 2020 election and polls indicating a competitive race, the reporter tried to carry water for Harris by spreading her divisive rhetoric.
The Harris campaign had criticized Trump for allegedly wanting to bring America back to the days of white supremacy and labeled Howell as “the KKK capital of Michigan.”
However, while it’s true that Howell had issues with the Klan in the past, so did many other cities across the country.
Additionally, when Biden visited Howell in October 2021, he was met with derogatory signs.
Despite this context, the journalist persisted in cosplaying as Harris’s press secretary. But she miscalculated Trump’s response and paid the price when he skillfully turned the tables on her.
He questioned if she knew who had been in Howell three years ago, prompting her to acknowledge Biden’s visit. Trump then thanked her and exited the stage, leaving her speechless.
For Trump, it must have been satisfying to compel a liberal reporter to concede defeat and acknowledge an inconvenient truth.
Reporter: Kamala’s campaign attacked you for being in this town because it’s associated with white supremacy.
Trump: Who was here in 2021?
Reporter: Joe Biden.
(Crowd roars)
Trump (chuckling): Thank you everyone.
(walks off stage)
