The events leading up to the assassination attempt on former President Donald Trump have been further illuminated by recent revelations.
According to a report from Pittsburgh’s WPXI-11, it has come to light that Thomas Crooks, the individual identified as the would-be assassin, was observed on a rooftop approximately 30 minutes before he launched his attack on Trump.
WPXI-11 disclosed that Beaver County’s ESU team, comprising eight members including snipers and spotters, was present at the rally.
One of their members reportedly spotted a suspicious individual on a roof near the rally at 5:45 p.m., subsequently alerting law enforcement and capturing an image of the person in question – later identified as Thomas Crooks.
It remains unclear whether Crooks was armed at that point.
Furthermore, it was revealed through multiple sources that a law enforcement officer had seen Crooks on the ground prior to 5:45 p.m., reporting him as a suspicious person.
Despite this, when an officer checked the area for Crooks at that time, he was not found where he had been photographed earlier.
Approximately 26 minutes after law enforcement captured the second picture of Crooks and relayed this information, shots were fired from the rooftop of the American Glass Research building.
Subsequently, a Secret Service sniper returned fire and ultimately killed Crooks.
Additional reports indicated that video footage of Crooks shooting from the rooftop surfaced before he was fatally shot by a Secret Service sniper.
In light of these events, at least two witnesses have come forward to share their accounts with various media outlets.
One rally attendee told CBS News of witnessing officers searching for something or someone during Trump’s address and subsequently spotting an individual on top of one of the buildings.
The witness promptly reported this sighting to an officer.
Another witness speaking to BBC News described observing the gunman crawling along the unsecured building’s roof and attempting to alert authorities about this potential threat for several minutes.
Moreover, it was previously reported that audience members had pointed out Crooks climbing onto a building’s roof to local law enforcement officers.
Following this notification, an officer pursued Crooks onto the roof and confronted him.
In response, Crooks aimed his weapon at the officer who then retreated down a ladder before Crooks discharged his firearm toward Trump.
These emerging details shed new light on the events leading up to the assassination attempt on former President Donald Trump.
The presence of law enforcement personnel in close proximity to Thomas Crooks prior to his attack raises questions about their awareness and response to potential threats.
Additionally, eyewitness accounts provide valuable insight into how individuals attempted to communicate their concerns about suspicious activities leading up to this violent incident.
Below is a split-screen video showing real-time footage of the assassination attempt on Trump from various angles.
The video includes a countdown, starting from footage of people warning authorities about the shooter and ending with Trump being swiftly escorted away from the scene.
