One of Joe Biden’s most devoted Hollywood supporters and advocates has dealt a significant blow to the president’s struggling re-election efforts.
In a surprising statement on Sunday, Rob Reiner declared that “it’s time for Joe Biden to resign.”
Reiner revealed his dramatic shift in position in a social media post, expressing concerns that if Trump prevails, “we will lose our Democracy.”
The actor-director did not specify whether he is suggesting that Biden withdraw from the re-election race or step down from the White House altogether—or perhaps both.

After being a fervent supporter of Biden for years, even proclaiming him to be the best president since Lyndon B. Johnson,
Reiner has had a stunning change of heart. He had been instrumental in fundraising for Biden, gathering donations from celebrities and Hollywood executives.
Despite hosting Hollywood fundraisers as recently as last week, Reiner was privately unhappy.
Breitbart News reported that he threw a tantrum at a watch party for the live CNN debate, expressing frustration as Biden struggled to speak coherently and froze up multiple times.
After Joe Biden gave a rambling answer about the border during Thursday night's debate, Donald Trump dismissed the president's response as nonsense and said, "I don't think he knows what he said either."

The filmmaker reiterated his support for Biden the day after the debate, stating that it was “not a difficult decision.”

Reiner is the most recent Hollywood mega-donor to switch sides from supporting Team Biden.
Other notable figures withdrawing their support include Endeavor CEO Ari Emanuel, Netflix co-founder Reed Hastings, veteran studio boss Barry Diller, and Lost creator Damon Lindelof.
