Kamala Harris departed from Joint Base Andrews on Monday morning, making her way to Detroit, Michigan for a Labor Day campaign event alongside union leaders.
The trip was part of the ongoing efforts by the Biden-Harris administration to garner support from the working class, although it was more focused on style than substance.
The administration’s policies, particularly their emphasis on an Electric Vehicle mandate and their approach to immigration, have negatively impacted unions nationwide.
Union jobs are disappearing rapidly, and even UAW boss Shawn Fain acknowledged that most union members are backing President Trump. The working class feels let down by empty promises while their jobs and livelihoods are under threat.
During her appearance in Detroit, Harris delivered a performance featuring an uncomfortable attempt at using an urban accent, which garnered skepticism from the crowd.
“Ya betta thank a union memba for sick leave! You betta thank a union memba for paid leave! You betta thank a union memba for vacation time!” she shouted, in what can only be described as one of her most awkward attempts at pandering yet.
Harris’ speech quickly turned into a bizarre spectacle, more suited for a comedy show than a serious political rally. She closed with a forced laugh, saying,
“Let’s just get through the next 64 days, how about that!? HA HA HA HA HA!” If this is what the administration considers outreach, it’s no wonder the unions are turning their backs on them.

Harris’ desperate attempt to connect with voters ended in failure, as her exaggerated accent and out-of-touch rhetoric only served to distance the very people she was trying to appeal to.
Instead of tackling the real issues affecting the working class, she resorted to empty slogans and overused phrases.
The administration appears more interested in staged public appearances than in solving the problems facing ordinary Americans.
It’s disheartening when the Vice President’s offering is a poor imitation of an urban accent, forced laughter, and meaningless platitudes.
With the next election approaching, the gap between the Biden-Harris administration and working-class Americans they claim to represent continues to widen.
Unions, once a steadfast support base, are now seeking leadership elsewhere that truly comprehends and addresses their concerns.
