Tucker Carlson Responds to Becoming Donald Trump’s Vice President

At Thursday night’s American Principles Project Foundation Christmas gala, Tucker delivered the keynote speech in which he discussed his Christian faith, optimism, and America being “falling apart.”

Following his talk, an audience member asked him to address reports of him potentially becoming Vice President under Donald Trump.Though Tucker didn’t completely reject the idea of serving as Trump’s running mate, he said “God would have to yell at me very loud.”

He also expressed worries about transitioning from a well-paid private citizen to a politician.

“To go from being, like, a well-paid street corner schizophrenic to, like, a politician — it’s just kind of hard to envision,” Tucker said.

Despite Tucker’s skepticism, audience members reportedly erupted in cheers when he left the door open to potentially accepting the position.

Understandably, this could mean forfeiting potential millions of dollars and ceding some influence — which is why Carlson may be hesitant about taking on such a role.

However, there have been numerous examples throughout American history where political figures initially expressed great skepticism towards becoming Vice President but ultimately accepted the offer later on. The most notable example is current White House occupant Joe Biden who was initially hesitant before relenting to then-Senator Barack Obama’s offer back in 2008.

Last month, Trump explained during an interview with conservative radio host Clay Travis why he would consider Tucker as his running mate.

Ultimately, it remains to be seen whether Carlson will accept or decline this opportunity; however it is clear that should he do so, one man will certainly be pleased: President Donald J. Trump himself.

“I like Tucker A LOT,” Trump said. “He’s got great common sense. We want to have safe borders, we want to have a wall because walls work.

President Trump will make the final determination on who will serve as his running mate, and he is known for being unpredictable.

Should Tucker receive an invitation to join the ticket, it would be one of the most highly anticipated decisions in modern American political history.
