California Governor Gavin Newsom appears to be a bit envious of his fellow Californian Kamala Harris, who secured the Democratic Party nomination for President after Joe Biden’s sudden withdrawal.
Biden’s departure from the race last month led to his endorsement of Harris as his successor, a move that some attribute to behind-the-scenes interference by figures such as Chuck Schumer, Nancy Pelosi, and Barack Obama.
Newsom recently shared his perspective on Harris’ “historic” nomination during an appearance on Pod Save America, a podcast hosted by former Obama aides Jon Favreau, Jon Lovett, Dan Pfeiffer, and Tommy Vietor.
The episode was recorded during the DNC Convention and posted Friday on the hosts’ YouTube channel.
When asked about his feelings regarding the transition from Joe Biden to Kamala Harris, Newsom delivered an interesting and sarcastic response that appeared to mock the manipulated nature of the process.
It’s clear that Newsom harbors ambitious aspirations, perhaps envisioning himself as “Mr. President” when he gazes into the mirror each morning.
Host: “How are you feeling about the switch?”
Newsom (sarcastically): “We went through a very open process, a very inclusive process. It was bottom-up, I don’t know if you know that. That’s what I’ve been told to say.”
(laughter ensues)
They all know it was a total scam.
