The Biden-Harris Administration has come under scrutiny for its handling of illegal aliens on the terrorist watchlist encountered by Border Patrol at the southwest border.
A report by Republicans on the House Judiciary Committee obtained by Fox News Digital has revealed concerning statistics regarding the release and detention of individuals on the terror watchlist, raising significant national security concerns.
According to the report, between fiscal years 2021 and 2023, at least 99 out of 250 illegal aliens on the terrorist watchlist encountered by Border Patrol have been released into American communities.
Additionally, a further 34 individuals are in Department of Homeland Security (DHS) custody but have not yet been removed from the United States. Furthermore, immigration judges have granted bond to at least 27 migrants on the watchlist who entered illegally.
The report highlights that Border Patrol has encountered migrants from countries that could pose national security risks, including Afghan nationals, Chinese nationals, Iranian nationals, Syrian nationals, and Uzbek nationals.
The number of encounters on the terror watchlist has seen a more than 3,000% increase amid the ongoing crisis at the southern border.
Notably, this data does not include an unknown number of potential terrorists who may have evaded Border Patrol to enter the United States as part of nearly 2 million “gotaways” since the beginning of the Biden-Harris Administration.
The report also found that migrants on the terror watchlist were encountered from 36 different countries with active terrorist presences, such as Afghanistan, Iraq, Lebanon, Pakistan, Somalia, Syria, Tajikistan, and Yemen.
The Terrorist Screening Dataset (TSDS) contains sensitive information on terrorist identities and includes individuals who represent a potential threat to the United States or known affiliates of watchlisted individuals.
This underscores the urgent need for robust screening and policies to prevent those with potential ties to terrorism from entering or remaining in the country.
Furthermore, officials have warned about terrorists seeking entry into the United States through its southern border. Recent incidents involving over 400 individuals brought to the U.S. from Eastern European and Central Asian countries by an ISIS-affiliated smuggling network highlight this very real risk.
Additionally, federal authorities arrested eight Tajikistan nationals with ties to ISIS who entered illegally through the southern border in New York City, Los Angeles, and Philadelphia.
The report concludes that American communities are already experiencing negative impacts due to immigration policies under the Biden-Harris Administration and warns that these effects may worsen if immediate action is not taken.
It emphasizes policymakers’ responsibility to secure borders and halt illegal alien flows while criticizing what it describes as a refusal by the administration to address national security risks created by its immigration agenda.
Overall, these findings underscore significant concerns regarding national security risks posed by illegal aliens entering or attempting to enter through America’s southern border under current immigration policies.
